Quantification and genotyping of human sapoviruses in the Llobregat river catchment, Spain.

چکیده
Human sapoviruses (SaVs) were quantified and characterized in an 18-month survey conducted along the Llobregat river catchment area in Spain. Sample types included freshwater, untreated and treated wastewater, and drinking water. All genogroups were recovered, and a seasonal distribution was observed. This is the first report of SaV quantification and genotyping in the environment outside Japan.

Human norovirus occurrence and diversity in the Llobregat river catchment, Spain.
Human noroviruses (NoV) were quantified and characterized in an 18 month survey conducted along the Llobregat river catchment in Spain. Sample types included freshwater, untreated and treated wastewater and drinking water. High NoV genome copy numbers were reported, reaching up to 10(6) l(-1) and 10(9) l(-1) in freshwater and raw sewage respectively. In both types of samples, GII NoV genome...
متن کاملModelling the emerging pollutant diclofenac with the GREAT-ER model: application to the Llobregat River Basin.
The present research aims at giving an insight into the increasingly important issue of water pollution due to emerging contaminants. In particular, the source and fate of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug diclofenac have been analyzed at catchment scale for the Llobregat River in Catalonia (Spain). In fact, water from the Llobregat River is used to supply a significant part of the Metro...
متن کاملOccurrence and diversity of Arcobacter spp. along the Llobregat River catchment, at sewage effluents and in a drinking water treatment plant.
The presence of Arcobacter species in faecally contaminated environmental waters has previously been studied. However, the ability to eliminate Arcobacter during the water treatment processes that produce drinking water has been little studied. We have investigated the prevalence and diversity of Arcobacter spp. throughout the year at 12 sampling points in the Llobregat River catchment (Catalon...
متن کاملBridging levels of pharmaceuticals in river water with biological community structure in the Llobregat River basin (northeast Spain).
A wide range of human pharmaceuticals are present at low concentrations in freshwater systems, particularly in sections of polluted river. These compounds show high biological activity, often associated with a high stability. These characteristics imply a potential impact of these substances on aquatic biota even when present at low environmental concentrations. Low flow conditions in Mediterra...
متن کاملEffect of scatter coincidences, partial volume, positron range and non-colinearity on the quantification of FDOPA Patlak analysis
Introduction: The key characteristics of positron emission tomography (PET) are its quantitative capability and its sensitivity, which allow the in vivo imaging of biochemical interactions with small amounts of tracer concentrations. Therefore, accurate quantification is important. However, it can be sensitive to several physical factors. The aim of this investigation is the assessment of the e...
